New Names
Kaufman County ARES, Inc. has obtained two new operational names from the Texas Secretary of State.  These are know as Doing Business As (DBA), which gives us the legal right for the exclusive use of these names.  The two new names will be used in conjuntion with SkyWarn and Storm Spotting activities.  These new names are Kaufman County SkyWarn and Kaufman County SkyWarn Association.

We obtained these names in an effort to create a better SkyWarn Spotter program within our county.  This program is not just made up of members of our organization, but by individuals from all over the county that have taking the training class, including fire fighters, police officers and just normal citizens.  Kaufman County ARES under these two names will be working to bring all of these inviduals together to be a more effective program.

skywarn1.pngKaufman County ARES is proud to take part in SkyWarn Spotting activities.  This is one of the many areas that amateur radio excels in helping to make a difference.  Without the "ground truth" reports that are provided by all spotters, the National Weather Service would be limited in what information that they would be able to provide the public.

We are pleased that the State of Texas granted us the rights to these two names and we will be working to promote this program throughout out county and working to insure a strong community of spotters that are willing to help.  Below you can view the copies of our Certificates issued to use by the State of Texas.

Both of these names are now the property of Kaufman County ARES, Inc. and will continue to be so, with an extension granted every 10 years from the original date.
