The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) offers a large assortment of online, in class or as a hybrid. Whether you want to take an emergency communications class or learn about antenna design and building, they should have a course that will interest you. All of there classes are designed to be taken online and usually provide several weeks (sometimes 8 or more) to complete the class, so you can do it at your own pace.
Each class has a registration fee which various both by the class and whether you are an ARRL member of not. We have listed links to their classes below and a breif description. Be sure the check the ARRL's website for current pricing. Some courses also allow you to request a grant payment when you complete them to obtain your registration fee back, but check with the ARRL first for current status.

Computerized Antenna Modeling techniques.
- HF Digital Communications (EC-005) -
Learn to use all HF digital modes.
- Radio Frequency Interference (EC-006) -
In
this course you will learn to identify sources and victims of
interference. You will also get tips
and suggestions for solutions and for handling those ticklish problems that
crop up with difficult neighbors and other aggrieved parties.
- VHF/UHF - Life Beyond The Repeater (EC-008) -
Students will
be introduced to Internet Linking, Amateur Satellites, Direction Finding,
APRS, Weak Signals, VHF Contesting, Microwaves, Amateur Television, and High
Speed Multimedia Radio.
- Antenna Design and Construction (EC-009) -
Students will become familiar with and experience antenna
design and construction techniques.
- Technician Course (EC-010) -
The goal of this course is to prepare students to take, and pass,
the entry-level Amateur Radio license.
- Radio Frequency Propagation (EC-011) -
Students will learn the science of RF propagation.
- Analog Electronics (EC-012) -
In 16 learning units the student will learn about the use
of instrumentation, Kirchhoff's Laws, Diodes, Rectifier circuits, Bipolar and
Field Effect Transistors, various amplifier configurations, filters, timers,
Op-Amps, and voltage regulators.
- Digital Electronics (EC-013) -
This course is designed for the electronics beginner that
has an interest in electronics and has been introduced to the fundamental
concepts of electricity and and electronic components such as resistors,
capacitors, transistors, and so forth.
All of the courses above are provided by the ARRL and their education service. Please be sure to contact them for further information, prerequisites, fees, class time period and any other information. These class are designed to be taken by both new and experienced ham radio operators. This is a great way to expand your knowledge in ham radio.
