ARES® stands for Amateur Radio Emergency Service which is a program that was formed and operated under the ARRL, the Amateur Radio Relay League, Inc. ARES has been designed to run under all parts of the FCC Rule 97 and has greater flexibility over the FCC RACES program. In many parts of the country, ARES and RACES teams have joined together to provide a better operation during times of emergency. ARES is made up of individual amateur (ham) radio operators that have volunteered their time and equipment to help out their communities and others during times of emergency. Kaufman County ARES, Inc. is one of these types of programs. We are always looking for new members and have positions for both hams and non-hams alike. ARES® and Amateur Radio Emergency Service® are registered trademarks of the Amateur Radio Relay League, Inc. and used under permission as an official ARES organization. |
