KE5KBY License
The official Callsign for Kaufman County ARES, Inc. is KE5KBY, though there has been consideration given to obtaining a vanity callsign.  The official Callsign will generally be used by the main radio cener (Ops Center) and mobile operation centers, as needed, during ARES events.

Once the repeater is on the air officially, we will issue it the following Callsign, KE5KBY/R.  This will be used to identify the repeater at the required 10 minute FCC intervals.

By having a Club Callsign, we are able to have a general Callsign that we use for any club/ARES operation.  Generally, the base station of the operation, whether from the Operations Center or a mobile command unit shall use the KE5KBY Callsign to identify the Net Control/Command Unit.

If you wish to utilize the KE5KBY Callsign, you will need to review the usage policy before you can use it.  Anyone using the Club Callsign without following the policy will be banned from using the Callsign and may lose their membership with Kaufman County ARES, Inc.
